In mighty greatness, like a flaming sword, the cherub Thou shalt, Saint Pachad, stands before our eyes. He bears the grandeur and majesty of the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ; he prays with the priest at the altar, “In the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, in heaven, on earth and under the earth…. Lord our God, how wonderful is Thy Name over all the earth!”
“Thou shalt,” says the angel, “set the Name of God above all names; thou shalt love Him; thou shalt be mindful of Him, but thou shalt also ask in that Name, and it shall be given thee.” Teach us, O Angel, to ask in this Name:
Lord, save the apostate priests, for Thy Name’s sake! Lord, let not the power of their consecrations fall into the hands of demons, for Thy Name’s sake! Lord, enlighten the misguided consecrated ones, for Thy Name’s sake! Lord, give the grace of love to hearts that have grown cold, for Thy Name’s sake! Lord, stir up the indifferent to see the nearness of the abyss, for Thy Name’s sake! Lord, do not let godless art triumph in Thy churches and restore the cross to us, for Thy Name’s sake! Lord, heal the distress of souls who are without priests, for Thy Name’s sake! Amen.
