“Waters of grace” | |

An angel of grace prays the Epistle with the priest at the altar today on this Sunday of grace: “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse; be subject to one another in brotherly love; be of one mind among yourselves…”
Who can grasp this overflowing gift of divine grace? It is wisdom, it is love, it is life from God. Just look at this wonderful angel: the flowing, rainbow-colored waters come from the wide bowl with the spiritual gift of the water of grace, of wisdom, which he holds in his hands above him… and never does this life-giving water run dry. As Jesus once changed the water into wine at the wedding of Cana, so grace unceasingly transforms man’s natural works into supernatural ones… if only man loves God with all his heart and does the will of God in himself. And even if his soul is dried up by bitterness and indifference, if he only says “yes” to God… if he only says “yes” to the will of God and would like to love God… grace has already knocked at his heart, and the mercy of God will make him a green field again, alive and accessible to grace.
This should be our watchword: Make sure that the fountain of grace never runs dry in you, then you can proceed in joy!
