In the midst of all the choirs of angels stand the Powers. Their very name testifies to their nature and task. We will never be able to fully understand and comprehend these heavenly powers. They bow down to earth at God’s command, intervene in the process of creation, and share their power with us in just the slightest degree. Only when we are allowed to see what God has prepared for those who love Him, (through the infinite mercy of God and through the intercession of Mary and all the angels and saints), will we also understand these angels, whose power almost overwhelms man, and then we will praise and glorify God.
One such angel of power, who is almost incomprehensible to us, is
Saint Sim,
angel of the hidden heart, secret thoughts, and of the transmission of spiritual powers. He belongs to a group of three known as The Hidden Heart because these angels administer the secret, supernatural powers in creation: the secret, inner current of all life, the radiations from all created things, and the force fields around them.
This group of angels used to consist of seven angels, but four of them fell into the abyss with Lucifer and now use the power and abilities left to them for destructive works. These are:
- the destructive forces of nature,
- the destructive radiation,
- the bewitching of the will to addictions and follies, and
- seduction, the sensual aura.
These four powerful demons and their followers seek to break, divert, and render ineffective the harmoniously ordered power of the three angels of The Hidden Heart. The more mankind distances itself from God, the more it surrenders itself to the influence of these demons.
Saint Sim, facing the Throne of God, stands before us today as our intercessor. He bears the symbol of his mission: a heart pierced by a weapon. It is the only external symbol we can perceive and yet our hearts burn at the sight of him, for all his thoughts of the power of his love for God and for mankind are clear to us, all his longing to lead people to God through his mission. For he bears the power and attraction of thoughts, the guidance of prophetic thoughts in the direction willed by God, the protection of holy power in people united with God. Let us think of Simeon’s words to Mary: “A sword will pierce your soul, so that the thoughts of many may be revealed” (Luke 2:35).
Prayer: Holy Angel Saint Sim, who sees into every corner of our hearts, grant us the grace to become pure and clear in all our thoughts and desires, so that when the Lord one day opens our hearts in the passion of our lives, He may find Himself there. Amen.
