Angel of hidden wisdom
VIENNA, AUSTRIA – FEBRUARY 17, 2014: Fresco of scene – little Jesus from Tabernacle in chains as a symbol of the Eucharist by Josef Kastner 1906 – 1911 in Carmelites church in Dobling. Photo c. by sedmak/depositphotos.com.

He looks so strange… like an old, oriental sculpture: two long, wide sleeves peel out of a rich, dark green brocade cloak and the intertwined hands are completely covered. They hold a book with many seals pressed to the chest. His face looks as if it has been cut in a criss-cross pattern, and he wears a bandage over his eyes. But the hem of his cloak spans the entire globe.

This is:

Saint Zeael or Saint Zea,

the Ancient One, one of the Silent Princes who serve in secret and the third of the seven who are known as Angels of All Mankind.

Saint Zeael symbolically carries God as God in wisdom because he has to administer the seed of divine wisdom that has sprouted over the whole earth. This is an enormous task, and thousands of angels are at the service of this prince. They guard the silent, hidden wisdom that rests in the foundation of every people. They guard the people to whom God has entrusted a measure (great or small… God knows) of wisdom. They especially guard priests, researchers, teachers and fathers and mothers. They guard all books and writings… except that anti-God press with which the Evil One and his hosts flood the world.

There are twenty-four Silent Princes, standing under the Thrones and receiving the stream of life from them. As angels of life, they are thus assigned to the Father, like the whole Choir of Princes… but this third part is also irradiated by the love and depth and wisdom of the Holy Ghost.

Thus Saint Zeael, who stands before God’s Throne today, can carry out his task on the foundation of life with the power of the wisdom of the Holy Ghost. The green mantle probably means that the wisdom of God, despite all its beauty among creatures, is enveloped by many inner and outer sufferings. Just think of the countless falsifications of God’s wisdom in false doctrines, distorted concepts of God and world views, research and books. The cuts in the face of this angel point to the dishonour inflicted on our Lord and God in His Church by satanic wisdom. The bandage over the eyes tells us that the wisdom of God can also be seen without eyes, through grace, and the hem over the earth points to the world-embracing wisdom of God. No place and no time will ever be able to say that they have never heard or seen or felt anything of the wisdom of God.

Prayer: You have given us Your wisdom, O Lord, in the foolishness of the Cross, in Your silent Passion, in the Tabernacle – the Throne of your silent, boundless love – in Mary and in our guardian angels. Let us understand it and live it. Amen.
