The angels of saving faithfulness

Your angel points upwards with his hand: From there comes salvation. There is the fulfillment of all love and longing. There, Your God dwells: He who gives the laws, but also the reward, for all faithfulness. God leaves nothing unrewarded and cannot be outdone in generosity. The more magnanimous man is in holy renunciation and faithfulness to God, the greater is the reward of the Loving, Almighty God.

Faithfulness must always be underpinned by love. He who truly loves is also faithful. Only those who love themselves more than God and their fellow man will be unfaithful. Love is a great power. Just as pressure can be measured by counter-pressure, so too, the greatness of love can be measured by the greatness of sacrifice.

God wants us to offer the power of sacrifice to Him out of love, so that faithfulness, like a victorious sword, can smash all the chains that the world and hell and our own ego want to wrap around our souls again and again. As a sign of this, the angel holds a snake with one hand that wants to coil itself around his arm; it is a dazzling, strong snake and the angel needs all his strength to render it harmless. The temptations of hell are absolutely nothing trivial in our lives. Watch and pray, admonishes the Lord. Watching does not mean breaking sleep, but being spiritually awake; and prayer is an indispensable weapon and great power!

Have courage, soul! Remain faithful to God, and His faithfulness will save you!
